Summer Simmer

I don't know about you but for me it has been hot! Literally and Figuratively. It has been 90 degrees ++ for almost a month here in Nebraska. And 2022 has been busy. More travel, more meetings in person, more social events. Which is why boundaries are more important than ever, as highlighted in last month's blog.

AND, it is also why it is so important to make sure we take some time to slow down this summer...and simmer. Yes, for many it has been a rapid boil of late, and before we leap right back into fall and sprint to the end of the year, can you take some time to slow down? Take a break? Turn down the heat to a simmer? Maybe even turn the heat completely off! For me, it is time to simmer a bit. And at the same time, in some areas it is also time to turn up the heat. In particular, my work out routine. The increase in my work has resulted in my walks and workouts suffering.

I have heard from others, who settled into the slower pace of the pandemic and are now falling behind. Some are not as driven or have lost a sense of urgency - personally and/or professionally. It is showing up in their lives and results. In this case, the heat is on! For some the pandemic provided more freedom, more time and perhaps even less business stress. And with more time on our hands, we aren't always as efficient. Perhaps we streamed a tad too much? Binged a bit on TV shows and comfort food? Took the foot off the gas if business thrived during the pandemic? For those it has been a good run, but now it may be done. The strong 2020/21 results are in the base and there is a big hill to climb again. It's time to kick it in gear. If that is you, are you ready to turn up the heat?

So where do you fall? Do you need to turn up the heat or turn it down? Maybe both? Wherever you are at, my hope for you is that you can use some time this summer to get going or get slowing. And continue to create the life you intend. Need help doing so? Give us a call, we are here to help you do just that...as soon as I get my workouts back in place!!
