Ready for a Refresh?

Last week I attended my nephew's High School graduation in Northern Virginia and that has me once again thinking about change. Heading off to college is such a major change for so many. Grads, parents, friends, families. A time full of emotions.

As we teach in our change workshop, Emotional Reaction is the first area of the three part process critical to optimize change. For those of you who have taken the workshop know that means clearing emotions - dealing with our emotional reaction to the change regardless if we view it as good or bad. And to do that well takes some focus and also some slowing down. Pausing long enough to be present to what is really going on with ourselves and others. What makes this extra tricky to do is the time of year when all of this is happening. May and June are usually packed with many great events - graduations, weddings, parties, vacations, holidays. Which can be enjoyable and at the same time also a distraction! Keeping us from focusing on addressing the major change ahead.

So I thought this might be a great time for a refresh. A refresh of some key principles from our Managing Corporate Change© workshop. And I also thought it might be a good time to make it extra easy to get that refresh, given how busy you are.

Below is a link to a podcast that I had the opportunity to be a part of earlier this year. All on the topic change. Maybe listen to it on your way to the next graduation party!
